Vanguard Loadout is published by Crawford Medical LLC ("we," "us," "our"). This page explains what information we collect when you visit vanguardloadout.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.
Effective date: May 16, 2026.
Scope
This policy applies to vanguardloadout.com and any subdomain we operate. It does not apply to third-party sites we link to. When you click an affiliate link, you leave our site and become subject to the linked merchant's privacy policy.
What we collect
Information you provide directly. If you subscribe to our newsletter (Field Notes) or create a Ghost member account, we collect your email address. If you write to us, we collect the contents of that message. We do not ask for, and do not knowingly accept, sensitive personal information through the site.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting platform and content delivery network log standard request data: IP address, browser type and version, referring URL, pages requested, and timestamps. This is operational logging — used to keep the site running, secure the site against abuse, and diagnose problems.
Analytics. We use a privacy-respecting analytics platform to understand aggregate site usage — which pages are read, which links are clicked, broad geography (country level), and similar. Our analytics platform does not set tracking cookies and does not build cross-site profiles of visitors. When the specific analytics vendor is selected and installed, this paragraph will be updated with its name.
Affiliate click tracking. When you click an affiliate link, we record the click in aggregate form (which link, when, from which page). We do this to verify commission attribution and to understand which recommendations readers act on. We do not link affiliate click data to your identity unless you are a logged-in member who has chosen to allow that.
Cookies. We use a small number of cookies for site functionality — for example, remembering that you are logged in if you have a member account, or remembering that you have dismissed a notice. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use it
We use the information we collect to:
-
Deliver the site and our newsletter.
-
Authenticate members where applicable.
-
Monitor site performance, security, and abuse.
-
Understand aggregate readership and improve our content.
-
Attribute affiliate commissions accurately.
-
Respond to your messages.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share email addresses with advertisers. We do not rent, lease, or barter our subscriber list.
Service providers
We rely on third-party services to operate the site:
-
Ghost (Pro) — content management, newsletter delivery, and member accounts. Ghost stores subscriber email addresses and member data on our behalf.
-
Cloudflare — DNS, content delivery, and security. Cloudflare processes request traffic on our behalf and may store standard request logs.
-
Email service provider for newsletter delivery — our newsletter is sent through Ghost's native email infrastructure (currently Mailgun under the hood).
-
Analytics platform — see above.
These providers are bound by their own privacy commitments and process data only as needed to provide the service.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding the personal information we hold about you, including:
-
The right to access the personal information we hold.
-
The right to request correction of inaccurate information.
-
The right to request deletion of your information.
-
The right to opt out of marketing communications.
-
For California residents under the CCPA: the right to know what is collected, the right to delete, the right to opt out of "sales" (we do not sell), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
-
For residents of the EU/EEA and UK under GDPR: the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, as applicable.
To exercise any of these rights, write to field-notes@vanguardloadout.com with the request. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and within statutory deadlines where applicable.
Newsletter and unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe from Field Notes at any time using the unsubscribe link in every newsletter email, or by writing to field-notes@vanguardloadout.com. Unsubscribing removes you from the mailing list. If you also want your email deleted from our records entirely, say so and we will delete it.
Children
Vanguard Loadout is written for adults — specifically, men 30 years and older interested in health optimization. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has provided us information, write to field-notes@vanguardloadout.com and we will delete it.
Data retention
We retain newsletter subscriber email addresses for as long as the subscription is active, and for a brief period after unsubscribe to honor the unsubscribe request and respect re-subscription suppression. Operational and security logs are retained for the standard retention windows of our hosting and CDN providers.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date and, for newsletter subscribers, send a notice in a forthcoming edition of Field Notes.
